quadrennial international
football tournament
contested by the men's
national teams of the member
associations of FIFA. The
tournament will be played in
Qatar between November 20th
and December 18th.

countries advanced through
qualification competitions
that began in June 2016 to
participate with the host
nation Qatar in the final
tournament.
France is the defending
champion, having defeated
the Croatia 4-2 in the
2018 World Cup final to win
its first World title.
